Chelsea make Michael Olise transfer decision despite new manager uncertainty

Chelsea are set nullto make a move for Crystal Palace's
£60million-rated Michael Olise, null irrespective of who takes over the managerial
reins.
The
Blues have Kieran McKenna, Roberto de Zerbi, Enzo Maresca and Thomas Frank on
their shortlist, with a decision expected next week. However, they're keen not
to miss out on 22-year-old Olise and are preparing to move for the Eagles' star
player.
The
Mirror report that Chelsea's board is determined to maintain its bold transfer
strategy, leaving the new manager to focus on team preparation. Manchester
United, Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool are also interested in Olise, with
United and Arsenal likely to have an advantage as the versatile forward is
eager to play Champions League football.
Despite
this, Chelsea remain undeterred, having been consistently impressed by Olise's
goal tally, assists and consistent high-level performances. The west London
club has long been interested in Olise, who netted 10 goals from just 14 league
starts and provided six assists last season.
Mauricio
Pochettino is believed to have left Stamford Bridge after failing to secure
more control over transfers. Ipswich are battling to keep McKenna, while De
Zerbi has already departed Brighton, Maresca is attracting attention after
guiding Leicester to promotion, and Frank has conceded he could leave Brentford
for a top-tier club.
The
managerial merry-go-round at Chelsea continues unabated, with the club set to
appoint their sixth head coach in just two years under the ownership of Todd
Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and Clearlake. The list includes brief stints by Bruno
Saltor and Frank Lampard as interim managers.
Meanwhile,
Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner is brimming with confidence about retaining key
players Olise, Eberechi Eze, and Jean-Philippe Mateta for the upcoming season.
The Austrian gaffer quipped that if the trio were sold, the proceeds could fund
a brand-new stadium for the Eagles.
he said:
"I am very confident they'll be here because they have contracts and no
one has told me they'll be leaving. I think what we have done is that we have
shown them that Crystal Palace have ambition.
"We
have shown them how we want to play, which path we want to go down, which
journey we want to ride together. They can show their strengths, qualities and
personalities and express themselves.
"They
fit together. This is what we can do. If something else happens, then this is
football. But Crystal Palace will be able to build a new Selhurst - because it
will cost a lot of money."
